Information and Support
You can talk to us about whatever you want.
We have information on all sorts of subjects. If we don't have the information you need, we can usually help you find it, or help you to find the best people to contact. We also have computers and a telephone you can use if you need to.
We can help with filling in forms and writing letters, and can go with you to appointments.
We will explain your options and help you to make decisions for yourself. This might be to do with practical issues, such as money or housing, or emotional issues, like relationships or your mental health. We won't tell you what to do. We will listen.
Here are some examples of why people come to Castlegate:
“My Dad's chucked me out and I've got nowhere to stay tonight.”
“I'm not enjoying my course at college and I'm thinking of leaving.”
“I'm worried about my friend; I don't think he's eating properly.”
“I want to go to college. Can I claim any benefits to help?”
“I think I might be pregnant and I don't know what to do next.”
“I need help finding an apprenticeship.”
“How do I register with a doctor?”
“I feel as though I'm going crazy.”
- And, perhaps the most original,
“What's the capital city of Peru?”
