Who We Are
When you come to Castlegate, we're the friendly faces who can help:
- Dawn
Dawn is the Castlegate coordinator as well as one of the counsellors. She drinks a lot of coffee at work and enjoys the occasional biscuit. Dawn has been known to utter rude words when the computers don't work.- Mary
Mary organises the counselling in Castlegate and is also one of the counsellors. Her claim to fame is that she knows someone who knows the guy on the cover of the first Arctic Monkeys' album.- Sue Grant
Sue is the mental health adviser at Castlegate. Sue loves being on the move, on foot, by bike, in her old car or the air. - Ashma
Ashma is the Castlegate clerical assistant. In her spare time she loves playing computer games, or you can find her curled up with a good book.- Meghan
Meghan is the centre development worker which means that she is always interested in your opinions on Castlegate and can normally be found in the drop-in. She loves shopping and is finding it hard now she works so close to Topshop.- Emma
Emma works in the drop-in as an information and support worker. She is also responsible for the Young People's Survival Guide to York. She likes sorting out clutter and making doorstop chickens.- Jo
Jo works in the drop-in as an information and support worker, formerly with the YES team since 2000 and now based at the Castlegate drop-in. She also runs the young women's self esteem group TO4U (Time out 4 you). Jo has lived in York all her life so is a good bet if you're needing directions with your enquiry.- Sarah
Sarah works in the drop-in as an information and support worker 3 days a week, she is also the Sexual Health coordinator for York Youth Service. Sarah has returned to York after working and living in London and abroad. - Sam
Sam is a counsellor and he works in the drop-in as an information support worker. He hates piccalilli.- Carla
Carla is a 16+ Connexions adviser and she works in the drop-in. She likes to visit different cities and even traveled around Poland for a month. Dzien dobry! - Helen
Helen is a 16+ Connexions adviser and she works in the drop-in. Helen's great skill is being able to complete a Rubiks cube in under 2 minutes- Ross
Ross is a Connexions adviser and he works in the drop-in. His claim to fame is that he knows the storm trooper who banged his head. Since this picture Ross has undergone a major haircut!- Caroline
Caroline is a counsellor. She likes shopping for shoes and furniture for Castlegate. When she's not at work her twin toddlers keep her very busy.- Wendy
Wendy is a counsellor. She loves the countryside and grapes and her favourite colour is orange.- Sue Farrand
Sue is a Connexions Personal Adviser specialising in careers guidance. She particularly likes the yellow and blue rooms at Castlegate, as these are her favourite colours.- Joan
Joan is a Connexions Personal Adviser specialising in careers guidance. She enjoys working at Castlegate and in her spare time keeps busy walking, cycling and growing her own vegetables.
